Capturing Sunlight: Images from the Southwest by Maria Arvayo

Where: The Amerind Museum – Dragoon, AZ

When: May 21, 2019 – April 26, 202

What: “In her own words: My work focuses on depicting the Sonoran landscape. I attempt to capture the quality of light, the warmth and the distinct beauty. I work in a wide variety of media, but the majority of my work is in oil, acrylic, pastel, and encaustic. My work is inspired by the natural world. Some pieces, although they may seem abstract, are usually objects that by their own nature are abstract. Through my images I hope to express and share the beauty that I see around us.”
